Where will your next hike at Lake Maggiore take you? We have a hot tip for you!
Hiking at Lake Maggiore is uniquely beautiful. Gentle, meandering paths lead over lush-green Alpine meadows and through dense forests up to panoramic peaks. Along the way, rustic huts invite you to stop off to enjoy energising bites and refreshing drinks. A walk that we warmly recommend is the summit tour up Mt Pizzo Leone. It’s 1,659 metres high and is known as the “Guardian of Ghiridone”. Pizzo Leone can be easily climbed in both summer and winter, and the hike is also suitable for children. The ascent takes approximately two hours and begins at Porera car park. You’ll cover around 550 metres of elevation on well-signed trails until you reach the summit, where you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views of Lake Maggiore, the Alps, Mt Rosa, and the picturesque villages of Centovalli. The way back down from the summit follows the same route. So, lace up your hiking boots and set off on extraordinary summit tours.
