The afternoon is the best time for a sailing trip on Lake Maggiore. Experienced sailors know how irresistible a couple of hours on the water can be. If you fancy trying your hand at sailing, you can complete a basic course at the sailing school in Ascona and learn the ropes (literally): everything from knots to setting sail and keeping the boat on course.

A workout on the water: stand-up paddling
While stand-up paddling (SUP for short), you’ll find new energy in the peace on the water and discover the beautiful treasures in and around the lake as you glide along. SUP is a fantastic form of full-body training that really gets your blood pumping and activates all your muscle groups. If you need a quick breather, simply sit down on your board, let your legs dangle in the water, and enjoy a few minutes of relaxation. Do you prefer calm water? Then early morning is the ideal time for you! The glassy surface of the lake lies before you, just waiting to be explored.

Big beach, big joy
Did you know that Ascona lido is one of the largest beaches in Switzerland? An area equivalent to almost six football pitches is home to impressively large trees, whose shade offers an especially good place to relax. Families can look forward to a family beach, there are plenty of water-sport options, and all that separates you from your next dip in the cool, blue water are a couple of steps.

Cheers to life
Your muscles are tired, you smile happily, and the last rays of sunshine caress your skin.
